INVITATION

Legend High/Cherokee Trail School MUN Conference

November 10, 2018

Thank you for choosing to participate in Legend’s first Model United Nations conference. We hope to provide delegates with an engaging and unique opportunity to debate relevant world issues. In this document is information regarding the logistics of the conference as well as the council topics and countries.

Due to a craft fair that will be occurring at the same time as our conference, it is especially important that sponsors and delegates are aware of where they need to go avoid confusion. There will be signs posted around the school to assist with navigation as well as individuals that will also be able to help. We are also asking that sponsors and delegates enter through the top lot (off of Hilltop Road) and enter through the marked door to avoid confusion.

Legend will provide a small breakfast including bagels and juice that is available to everyone associated with the Model UN conference outside of the auditorium. Lunch will be provided for only POs, judges, volunteers, and sponsors. We suggest that delegates either bring or order lunch, since there are no restaurants in walkable distance.

We request that all registration is submitted to sponsors Tim Florian (tpflorian@dcsdk12.org) and Kendra Gish (kkgish@dcsdk12.org) by October 26th. The deadline for drops and late additions is November 2nd.

Participation will cost $12.00 per student and will be paid at check-in. This fee only applies to students that are participating in the conference as delegates (POs do not have to pay). Delegations must also submit one copy of their position paper at check in for review by judges.

Legend will be awarding four separate awards per room by judges in each room. The awards are as follows: Best Delegate (1st place), Outstanding Delegate (2nd Place), Honorable Mention (3rd Place), and Best Position Paper.

Unique to Legend’s conference are two full delegation awards: Best Small Delegation (11 or less individual delegations) and Best Large Delegation (12 or more individual delegations). These are based by the total awards won by a school’s delegation (Best Position Paper = 1pt, Honorable Mention = 1 pt, Outstanding Delegate = 2 pts, Best Delegate = 3 pts).

There will be T Shirts available for sale that represent all clubs of Model United Nations across Colorado. Information regarding the pricing of the T-Shirts will be released at a later date. T Shirts will be purchasable both at the conference and during registration.
